The Australian Paranormal Research Society (AUPRS) was set up in 2007 by the UK Paranormal Research Society, one of the UK biggest paranormal research societys.
In 2007, UKPRS decided to launch a brand new project that would investigate paranormal activity in another country. They decided to take on Australia, as two of their members were planning to spend most of 2008 in the Melbourne and Sydney area.
AUPRS has two simple aims. To conduct research into the paranormal to gain a better understanding of what causes such phenomena and to educate the public on the work and research that we do.
AUPRS is a non-profit paranormal research organisation in which volunteers can get together and take part in paranormal research. We also do over night investigations in locations across the Sydney region which are known to be haunted.
Australia has got some interesting haunted locations which include Maitland Goal, Melbourne Goal and the world famous Monte Cristo in New South Wales.
In the UK, UKPRS has quickly become one of the UK's premier paranormal research organisations. The organisation has investigated famous haunted buildings including The Jamaica inn, Wymering manor, Southsea Castle, Woodchester mansion, The Red lion Avebury, Victoria Country Park, Salisbury guildhall, Buckingham house and so much more.
UKPRS has also worked with many media companies (see media section) including radio, TV, Magazines and newspapers. UKPRS has also worked with the likes of Derek Acorah and David Wells from TV's Most Haunted.
Our team of experts are highly committed to the work of the organisation and many of them have worked in the paranormal field for several years.
